If you’ve stumbled across this blog, and you actually started here, I guess I owe you a short explanation as to what you’ve found, and the person behind these words!
My name is Haroon, a second gen British-Pakistani. Born and raised in the Black Country.
I currently live, and work in the United Arab Emirates with my wife. This is us, after we completed Umrah, earlier this year:

Professionally, I’ve worn a couple of hats.
I graduated from university with a degree in Games Development. Learning programming languages such as C++, C#, and JavaScript, and tinkering in game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine.
After graduating, I worked as a Junior Full Stack Engineer, creating websites using ASP(dot)Net. I know, I know, I didn’t actually go into the games industry, but that’s a story for another day.
Anyhow, to cut a long story short, for the past almost decade, I find myself in Technical Specialist roles in SaaS companies where I bridge the gap between engineering and customer operations.
Right now, you’ll find me deep in the weeds of AI, over at Zapier
I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been blessed with, الحمد لله.
So, the part you’re probably more interested in, what is this blog about?
Well, to be honest, I’m not exactly sure, yet. I have a vague idea of the direction I’d like to take it, but for now, I’m labelling this as an experiment.
I like the idea of ‘documenting life’ (yes I know, it’s an overused trope), but have typically failed to do so. I’m trying to change that, and be more intentional.
There isn’t a niche per se, and I’m writing this for my own benefit, but if you happen to stumble across something that resonates, it’s a bonus.
A few housekeeping items:
- I know AI is all the craze right now, and I felt compelled to mention that this blog is written by me. These are my words, and I've spent far too long sitting behind my iPad typing them for you to think otherwise. 😂
- The only thing AI assists me with here is helping me think through my thoughts, and how I can structure each post in a coherent way.
- If you come across a blog post that does resonate, and you'd like to connect and talk about it, you can reach me via email, or LinkedIn.
Right, it’s 6:27pm, I’m hungry and my wife is asleep, so it’s time for me to make a racket.
